With the recent water bombers scooping water from the Annapolis River in Round Hill today, this is a great reminder to fellow drone operators to be aware.
Operating drones anywheres near efforts related to wildfires can result in severe impacts and ground aircraft.
It is illegal to operate drones near wildfires or in areas that can interfere with firefighting efforts, including water bombers scooping water.
The fine is $25,000 under the Forests Act and there could be additional fines under federal legislation as well.
Let’s all help play our part in helping contain this fire!
⚠️ Please Note: There is no indication the helicopter crash today had any relation to drone operations, this post is made as awareness & reminder.
