Did you know, that there are yield signs positioned along on-ramps?
When merging onto 100 series highways in Nova Scotia, traffic already on the highway has the right of way.
Vehicles that are getting on the highway must yield to traffic before merging.
Traffic that is already traveling on the highway is not required to slow down or move over for vehicles merging, though it is courteous to do so.
Vehicles that slow down or stop to allow vehicles to enter onto the highway can create hazardous situations and result in crashes.
Before merging:
• Match your speed ✅
• Check your mirrors ✅
• Look over your shoulder ✅
• Use your signal lights ✅
Always pay attention, drive carefully and know the rules of the road!
