I’m hearing reports from residents who have been evacuated in the area that power has been shut off along West Dalhousie Road, as the wildfire continues to burn out of control today.
Fire conditions were extreme yesterday and overnight, which are expected to continue into today with increased winds.
Due to fire conditions the Incident Command Post was relocated from the West Dalhousie Community Centre to Bridgetown yesterday evening.
Smoke is polluting the air in Annapolis County with reduced visibility and air quality warnings.
The fire was extremely close to the West Dalhousie Road overnight with Bridgetown responding to spot fires as fire crews were not in the area.
I suspect the power has been shut off for the safety of firefighters and the increased fire conditions near powerlines.
Update on the size and conditions are expected sometime this afternoon.
First photo was taken by Maria Longmire Photography around 11PM yesterday evening.
Second one moments ago at Exit 21 in Bridgetown and the third is the current Nova Scotia Power outage map.
