On Saturday evening, shortly after 10PM, Nictaux Firefighters along with mutual aid partners responded to a report of a Barn fire in Bloomington.
It was reported that a barn in a field was on fire, near a residential home.
Mutual aid protocols were automatically provided from Middleton, Lawrencetown and Kingston Fire Departments.
Prior to anyone’s arrival, a second alarm was requested bringing in additional tankers, including Bridgetown Fire.
Deputy Chief, Jason Vienotte with the Nictaux Fire Department, was able to confirm, the homeowner was having a control burn when the fire had gotten out of control.
The fire had spread to a dismantled barn which was already on the ground. Residents worked to contain the fire with garden hoses until the fire department had arrived.
Firefighters remained on scene for a short time until the fire was fully extinguished.
There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident and no other immediate structures were involved.
