The West Dalhousie /  Long Lake wildfires complex is still out of control.

Local News

A new size estimate reflecting some growth is likely once crews have a chance to measure again. Last estimate was 3,212 hectares and is still classified as out of control.

Previous reports advised that some trailers and campers were lost but thankfully there are no residential homes damaged at this time.

Despite difficult conditions, firefighters worked all day to shore up dozer guards on the north side of the fire and continue building them in other strategic spots.

Aircraft focused on supporting ground crews with this work.

Next update is expected tomorrow morning.
