Happy New Year!

Community

Over the past year I’ve been able to capture and write about many important events, including touching stories and breaking news, specifically across our beautiful Annapolis Valley.

Looking back at the year, from my nature photography, breaking stories, community engagement and all of the above. I soaked in so much time and effort for one person, covering much more than I ever anticipated.

I was able to make so many new friends and connections, while covering some of the hardest topics I’ve ever experienced since I started this page in 2021.

There were projects I wanted to accomplish but didn’t and things I did accomplish I felt was impossible.

From my year long civic sign campaign, to bringing awareness on firefighting related cancers, photographing Devils Half Acre, covering drought impacts on farmers, whale watching, touching on the work of a traffic analyst, covering the memorial ride for the four lost souls in West Hants, Change in Command at Camp Aldershot, my sisters wedding and the significant wildfires that damaged our communities in West Dalhousie and Lake George.

There were even dozens of press conferences and other news stories I covered. With a lot of the articles being written and shared about people who trusted me to be their voice.

If there’s one thing I could look back on, it would be taking the advice of others. Taking more time for myself and finding a way to “take a break.”

I hope to continue this journey through my lenses and through the articles that bring our communities together but also at a more healthy pace in 2026.

Truly, I can’t be thankful enough for the people who have been rooting for me in my corner.

Supporting this journey through my page and who continue to provide me with the drive to keep pushing on, even during some of my toughest obstacles.

From my home to yours, I wish everyone a safe and healthy New Year.
