With over 600 fans in attendance on Saturday and only one game needed to close out the series, the Admirals Hockey Club took the Junior C League Championship in Berwick.

The team was formed for the 2023-2024 season, with their first year being trialed in Bridgetown, they eventually relocated to Credit Union Centre in Kingston where they call it home.
Following a successful run during the regular season, they made it to the finals facing off against the league leading Penguins.
The Admirals were leading the best of seven series 3-0 but let off the heat and were unable to sweep the series. The Penguins were starting to slowly creep back in attempts to force a game 7.
“The team delivered the effort it needed to close out the series. After going up 3-0 and losing game 4 in OT, we kind of took our foot off the gas and played down to their level but the boys brought it back to our game for the start of game 6 and we said there isn’t going to be a game 7. We were going to finish the series tonight and every player brought their A game.” Shared Captain Trevor Harvey.

It was a tight game 6 with lots of opportunities and scoring chances for the Penguins. Chase Crowell, goaltender for the Admirals stopped a staggering 47 out of 48 shots.

Goal scorers for the Admirals were;
Daniel Jamieson , assisted by Trevor Harvey and Porter Crowell. Antoine Tringle, assisted by Raymond McDow and Porter Crowell. Aiden Gallant, assisted by Porter Crowell. Daeshawn Fletcher, assisted by Porter Crowell (empty netter)
“The coaching staff and I couldn’t be more proud of this group of young men. From training camp we had set the goal of finishing this season as Champs and every player bought into exactly that. All season we have been preparing to play in this elimination game and the boys delivered when it mattered most! Game 6 we played our complete game right from the drop of the puck until the very end, and our depth came through as it has all season long. With goal scorers from 3 different lines, not having to rely on one player or line but a complete team. Our D stepped up all night long, breaking up plays and keeping everything to the outside, and regular season top goalie and playoff MVP Chase Crowell came up huge when needed. We have players from all over that made the commitment to come and play here because they love the culture we have built and I couldn’t be more proud to see all their hard work, dedication and growth over the year payoff. These young men will have this experience and memories for the rest of their life. In our hockey dressing room we have a board where the game MVP puts a puck into a slot so we visibly track our goal to being champs and above all the slots is our playoff slogan ” It doesn’t mean a thing without the ring!” and placing that last puck will be the sweetest one!” Proudly shared Head Coach, Todd McDonald.

Congratulations to the club and all the best on the Maritime Junior C Hockey Championship, which is being held at the Simmons arena in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, from April 23rd-26th.
