Emergency Preparedness Open House in Middleton

Community

Emergency preparedness week is a national awareness initiative and an opportunity for you to take action to ensure you’re prepared to protect yourself, your family and your community during an emergency.

This year’s theme is “Be prepared. Know your risks.”

Last weekend, the Middleton Fire Department hosted an emergency preparedness day, showcasing their equipment, agencies and much more for the public to come and see!

From fire trucks with sprinkler protection equipment for wildfires, to booths on proper disposal of waste, to even civic signs and information on how to be prepared, there was lots to see and learn.

Emergencies can truly happen at little to no notice and could include, hazards such as wildfires, flooding, hurricanes, extreme heat and power outages.

It’s always important to understand the risks around your home and community and have a 72 hour emergency kit in the event of emergencies.

Attached are just a few photos of some of the organizations and volunteers at the event!
