Garage destroyed in Greenhill

Yesterday evening shortly before 11PM, Brooklyn Firefighters with automatic mutual aid from Gore, Rawdon & Mount Uniacke Fire, responded to a garage on fire. 

Crews were alerted to the fire in the community of Greenhill, arriving on scene to a 30×30 fully involved, detached garage. 

Early reports indicated that the woods were also catching on fire which prompted DNRR to be advised. 

“Crews did an amazing job at quickly knocking the fire and protecting nearby wooded areas and exposures.” Stated Logan Hope, Deputy Fire Chief with the Brooklyn Fire Department. 

There were no reported injuries as a result of the fire. 

Hants District RCMP, EHS Paramedics and Nova Scotia Power also attended. 

Hope confirmed the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
