State of Local Emergency Renewed for County of Annapolis Updated

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY, NS, AUGUST 22, 2025 – The Municipality of the County of Annapolis has renewed the State of Local Emergency in response to the ongoing West Dalhousie wildfires, which continue to burn out of control.

This renewal extends the municipal State of Local Emergency for an additional seven (7) days, unless terminated or further renewed. During this time, residents are reminded to follow all official instructions and directives from emergency officials.

The declaration also continues to prohibit price inflation for essential goods and services, helping ensure residents maintain fair access to supplies during this crisis.

The Municipality remains committed to working closely with provincial partners, fire services, the Nova Scotia Emergency Management Office, and community organizations to coordinate response and support affected residents.

Residents are urged to monitor official updates from Annapolis Regional Emergency Management Organization (REMO) and other official government sources.
