There is a weather statement in effect for the majority of mainland Nova Scotia.
I’ve seen a few comments from folks joking about these warnings and while these are frustrating to see, it’s important to understand how quickly things can change.
Thunderstorms are hard to predict and there exact rainfall total is uncertain, there is the possibility of a significant amount of rain falling within a short period of time, which can result in flash flooding.
There is the potential for 15-25mm of rain per hour for a short period of time, similar to other flooding events.
Keep an eye on the system rolling though tonight and into this morning, any warning is better then no warning.
