This year marked the 3rd Annual West Hants Memorial Ride!
Family, friends, first responders and other community members, came together to remember, Colton, Natalie, Terri-Lynn & Nick.
During the overnight hours of July 22nd, 2023, continuous thunderstorms impacted the West Hants Region. This weather event was severe, causing significant damage to infrastructure, hundreds of emergency calls for service and a search effort that lasted 12 days.
Tragically, four innocent lives were lost following flash flooding. This prompted a large response from dozens of agencies and hundreds of first responders.
Every year since, we remember those who were lost and thank those who helped to bring loved ones home to their families, by honouring them in an annual memorial ride.
This day is special for many, from a ride around the community, to seeing familiar faces while remembering those taken too soon.
From a hotdog and hamburger BBQ, live music, 50/50 draw and accepting donations each year, organizers donate the funds to local first responder agencies.
When the donations are all counted, they give it back to those who were there when families needed it them most.
Huge shoutout to Michelle, spouse of Nick, along with a number of other volunteers who work hard each year, to pull this important event off, great job as always!
