Video Project – Civic Signs

Community

Over the past six months, I’ve been actively working on a video project, highlighting the importance of having your civic signs displayed in our communities.

Not only is this a problem in the Annapolis Valley, but it’s a pressing issue across Nova Scotia, one in which has been for many years.

This “video project” has officially been completed, one which I’m happy to have off my plate.

I’ve spent months and many long days communicating and working with different agencies and partners, from the province, municipalities, fellow firefighters, medics, officers and many more, working to have a better understanding of the issue and what I could do to improve it.

Many are reluctant to have a discussion, which absolutely baffles me, especially when a simple sign could be the difference in someone’s life.

It’s not always easy to make time to help with projects when emergencies take priority. It took some time to get footage and make things work with the following agencies.

Thank you to Annapolis Police Department, Kentville Police Service, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Emergency Health Services, Valley Communications, Nova Scotia Public Safety Field Communications, Victorian Order of Nurses, Coldbrook & District Lions Club & The Municipality of the County of Kings, Nictaux, Annapolis Royal, Waterville, Wolfville, Kentville & Hantsport Fire Departments.

Huge thank you to my good friend Ian Swinamer for helping film some footage and keep me on track!

To many helping hands behind the scenes; Heather Robertson, Sybil Robertson, Trudy MacDonald, Janelle Adams, Mataea Welton, thank you!

Another big shout out to Mr. John Barrett from the Coldbrook & District Lions Club. He has always been available to help me through my trial and error!

Looking forward to getting this published very soon!!
