Construction Continues at New Cambridge Interchange

Community

I had the opportunity to get out on the very active construction site for the new interchange in Cambridge yesterday.

There has been a significant amount of work done within a short period of time, including the progress on the road from Brooklyn Street to the new overpass.

Roundabouts are starting to take shape and traffic was reduced to two lanes on Wednesday and Thursday for safe bridgework, for the new overpass which is also underway.

There still alot of work to be done, but you can see the progress from just the past few months.

This new interchange will be a huge boost to the local area by reducing traffic congestion along the number one highway from Coldbrook to Waterville and through some rural streets. While also providing the Annapolis Valley First Nation a second way out of the community.

Special thanks to the workers on site for being accommodating and helping me snap some updated photos!
