Lake George Wildfire now “Out of Control” per DNR

Local News

The Lake George Wildfire has been reclassified as out of control and is estimated at 80 hectares in size.

Ground crews have evacuated from the immediate area due to intense fire conditions and the fire is threatening structures and camps in and around the active fire zone.

NWT Territories water bombers have been making strikes all afternoon and two Quebec 415s are enroute to work the fire this evening.

Evacuation notices have been issued and structural protection gear from Brooklyn Fire is enroute to the scene to assist with those tasks.

Please avoid the area as the fire continues to spread.

Photos below were taken well out of the fire zone following Nav Canada Drone guidance for wildfires.

Smoke is impacting many areas including Hants County where it’s drifting across the Annapolis Valley.
