The Lake George Wildfire is now estimated at 288 hectares and remains out of control.
The fire continues to spread as a result of dry and windy conditions.
There are still no reports of damage to structures, crews continue to have sprinkler protection in place and are keeping these maintained.
Volunteer firefighters are working on site performing “pump and roll” tasks, this involves spraying water while the fire truck is moving on vegetation in the active fire zone.
Crews continue to work hard to protect homes and other structures.
The fire is reported to be burning deep and with today’s high temperature, it’s expected to be a challenge.
Per DNR, resources today include 35 DNR, 39 BC and 23 local firefighters, 2 Newfoundland and 4 NWT planes, 1 DNR and 5 contracted helicopters, and 18 pieces of heavy equipment.
Next update from DNR expected around midday tomorrow.
