Successful Fundraiser for Cancer Research

Community

It was a great evening to stop into the Billtown Baptist Church for a yummy spaghetti supper!!

The supper was hosted as a fundraiser in support of Joel Neily, who has been diagnosed with a firefighting related cancer and continues his tough battle.

It was touching to see his mutual partners from Kentville Fire & Nova Scotia Power trucks outside the church, positioned in support.

All proceeds from the fundraiser tonight are going directly back to the Nova Scotia Power Safety and Kentville Fire team donation for Light the Night.

What is light the night?

It’s an annual fundraising event organized by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada to support the blood cancer community through a walk that unites patients, survivors, families, and friends.

The event aims to raise funds for research, patient support, and educational resources while celebrating progress and honoring those affected by blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. It is a free event that includes a walk, where participants carry illuminated lanterns of different colors to symbolize support and hope.

If you weren’t able to make it out tonight, you can still help by donating to the link below!

They’ve already raised an outstanding $8,000 for the worthy cause.

You can support their efforts by visiting Light The Night Halifax on behalf of NS Power Safety / Kentville Fire ⤵️
