Yesterday marked one year since the tragic passing of Paiyton Pick.
Residents of Ellsworth Estates haven’t forgotten the loss of Paiyton, displaying bows, flags, ribbons and one neighbour even projecting a ribbon on their home in her memory.

The purple ribbons are displayed as an awareness of domestic violence. While also being used as a remembrance to those victims who have been taken too soon as a result of intimate partner violence.
Pick was found deceased following a fire at a residential home, nestled in the Ellsworth Estates subdivision in Centreville.
It was later released that her boyfriend was arrested and charged with second-degree murder as a result of her death.
The RCMP confirmed this case was a result of intimate partner violence. Just one out of several cases over a short time period across Nova Scotia.
Our thoughts remain with Paiyton’s loved ones, family, friends and the community even one year after her passing.
