Wrapping up 2026 calendar project

Community

To say this year’s calendar project was beyond successful, would be an understatement.

This page has been a blessing and a curse in disguise, with years of hard work and soaking in thousands of dollars. My calendar project, each year, is one way to help break even with some of my expenses.

I set the bar high this year, pitched a few ideas around and set a goal to sell one thousand calendars. While I fell slightly short, I came very close and surpassed last year’s sales.

It was a struggle. So many things in life were going on during peak calendar season and I never thought I would have been able to accomplish all the different projects on the go.

Well, not only did I have the pleasure of selling my calendars with photos of mine this year, I was able to feature photos from other photographers around the province.

I was even able to have custom calendars designed for the Aylesford & Greenwich Fire Departments with different photos of mine featured for their membership.

On top of this, with the support of my calendar supplier Brad, he was able to donate his time and donate 200 custom Kentville Fire calendars, with photos by Brian Taylor, Allan Cosman and Jeremy Walsh featured, all free of charge.

We were beyond successful. We sold out, with all the funds from this particular calendar going to support our friend and firefighter, Joel Neily, who is courageously battling a firefighting-related cancer.

Through my personal sales, we were also able to donate $2,000.00 to the West Dalhousie Community Hall to provide relief to residents who suffered damages from the Long Lake Wildfire.

This major project each year is made possible by the support of businesses who sponsor my calendars and those who help sell them in store.

Thank you to Cambridge Convenience, Milne’s Towing & Recovery, Green Leaf Enterprises, Callister’s Country Kitchen, Copeland Property Maintenance, Atlantic Group & Trauma Training Center & Keystone Monument and Granite Products.

I can’t thank everyone enough for their support. From those who purchased this year, trusted me to make calendars for them and my friends and family for their input and encouragement.
