Charges following armed robbery in Coldbrook

Kings District RCMP has safely arrested and charged two people as part of an investigation into an armed robbery in Coldbrook. Investigators continue to seek further information from the public.

On February 16 at approximately 3:20 p.m., RCMP officers responded to a report of a robbery at a restaurant in the 7100 block of Hwy. 1 in Coldbrook. Officers from a variety of RCMP units and Kentville Police Service attended. Through the investigation, officers learned that a person entered the restaurant, placed a weapon on the front counter, and demanded money from the staff. The person left the restaurant on foot then got into a vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

The Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section lead the investigation.

On February 28, Kings District RCMP executed a search warrant at a hotel in Windsor with support from West Hants RCMP Detachment. Officers seized a variety of items associated to this robbery and safely arrested two people.

Logan Fredericks, 25, of Kingston, is charged with Robbery as a party to the offence.

The other person arrested, a youth, is charged with multiple offences including Robbery with a Firearm, Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Offence, and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.

Both were released on conditions pending court appearances scheduled for May.
