Just wanted to express my thank you to the 308 different firefighters who filled out the firefighting-related cancer survey, that was formed back in January.
This survey has now officially been closed.
There is lots of valuable information to go through, including approximately 100 comments from firefighters. Many who have provided areas of improvement and tips on preventing members from being exposed to carcinogens while they are serving their duties.
I leaned heavily on Kentville Firefighter,Joel Neily, when I was forming this survey, helping to craft questions and ideas that need to be discussed.
While things do take time, we will do right by Joel, making sure this information is shared to the frontlines of our brothers and sisters.
I am looking forward to being able to compile this information to share in ways that can make a difference alongside the The FireSafe Foundation.
