Even two years later, the community remembers Esther Jones.
Two years ago, on this very day, August 31st, 2024, Esther Jones was last seen alive at the Kingston Bible College along Bridge Street in Greenwood.
Her sudden disappearance sparked significant concerns, prompting the report to the RCMP on September 2nd.
Investigators eventually located her vehicle and determined a struggle had occurred at the Bible College.
The Nova Scotia RCMP Southwest Major Crime unit assumed lead of the investigation bringing in a plethora of resources to the area in search for Jones.
The events that unfolded in September, included several search warrants, over 100 interviews and shocked the community, even to this day.
An arrest was made in the connection to her disappearance and the charges are currently before the courts.
Even two years later, Esther’s remains have not been located.
Jones was known for her beautiful soul, great taste in music while touching many people whom she crossed paths with.
After charges were laid, community members left items in her memory outside of the Bible College, ensuring her life would always be remembered.
Esther had a sincere love for animals, especially dogs and was known to carry treats in her pocket for dogs along her work route.
Our thoughts remain with the immediate family and all those involved in this devastating loss, as the pursuit for justice continues.
