Late this afternoon, Kentville Firefighters responded to an incident involving downed powerlines in North Kentville.
Middle Dyke Road was closed to all traffic in the area as live lines were on the ground, sparking and burning.
To ensure the safety of motorists, the Kings District RCMP assisted with shutting down the roadway until Nova Scotia Power could arrive.
Power crews worked to de-energize the lines so firefighters could safely soak the area that had been burning deep into the ground.
