Yesterday shortly after 12 noon, Kentville Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in Murphy Lake.
Automatic mutual aid was dispatched from New Minas, Waterville & Port Williams Fire Departments.
On arrival a structure was heavily involved and already on the ground resulting in some mutual aid units being stood down.
Waterville Firefighters established a water source at the canal in Forest Home for tankers to refill.
The road was shut down for a short period of time to allow firefighters to safely work in the area. Kings District RCMP were also on scene and assisted with traffic control.
Nova Scotia Power & EHS Paramedics were also on scene but were not required.
Kentville Fire Chief, Scott Hamilton was able to confirm that the home was vacant.
