⚠️ The Lake George wildfire is still out of control and still estimated at 290 hectares.
No reports of damage to any structures at this time.
Despite windy conditions, crews are reported to have made good progress building dozer guards and laying wet lines with hoses and pumps.
Wind conditions shifted at one point today helping fire efforts along with hard strikes by water bombers.
On scene today were 23 DNR and 20 local firefighters, 4 NWT, 1 DNR and 2 contracted helicopters, and 18 pieces of heavy equipment building fire breaks.
Some volunteer fire departments have been released early from the scene this evening.
2 Newfoundland CL-415 planes and 2 CL-415 planes came from Quebec to make quick strikes late this afternoon.
Road closures and evacuations remain in place as the fire is burning out of control.
