Out of area support for West Dalhousie Community

Community Local News

I have had a contact reach out to me who I believe may be of extreme value to many residents in West Dalhousie, offering to share information about the way forward and the hurtles they will inevitably face.

There are many in West Dalhousie who are currently processing and working to find the next steps.

While provincial and municipal support is available to those affected, there is nothing that will prepare you better than speaking with someone who has already been in your shoes.

This individual lost their entire home due to the wildfires in Shelburne in 2023. For many, things will never be the same, but being prepared and knowing what’s ahead could be very beneficial.

There’s a lot to process and navigate while dealing with insurance or not having insurance, and many relevant questions that you might want answered or might not even think of.

I had a great conversation yesterday evening for over an hour with this individual. We shared some stories back and forth and I sincerely believe this could help many prepare for what will be a long journey ahead.

There’s absolutely no pressure, and if and when you’re ready, I’d be more than happy to connect you privately.

If you are a homeowner and would like this contact information, please reach out to the page via message or email.

This contact is very willing to help anyone who might have any questions on the experience or process, while sharing their continued struggles two years later.

Remember – you are not alone and there are supports!

⚠️ Please Note:

I can confirm this resident unfortunately lost their home in Shelburne County in 2023 and is sincerely wanting to help others.

They were left in the dark when this happened to them and being able to help someone else by giving information is the purpose of this post.
