This morning, Waterville & District Volunteer Firefighters were dispatched to a pile of brush on fire in Somerset.
Firefighters dumped approximately 2500 gallons of water on a pile of brush that had kicked back up following a previous fire, prior to the fire ban.
It’s a great reminder that even though a fire may have happened weeks ago, they can still be smouldering and burning from beyond the naked eye.
Department of Natural Resources and Renewables was also contacted.
Crews cleared the scene a short time later.
