Stunting driver charged

Community

A Sonic Turbo might sound like a car built for sonic speeds, but Nova Scotia highways aren’t the place to prove it. One driver learned that quickly after a Southwest Traffic Services officer caught them stunting.

πŸ“ Hwy 101, near Avonport

πŸ•’ June 12, 2 p.m.

πŸš— 19-year-old driver

πŸ“Έ Speed: 171 km/h in a posted 110 km/h zone

πŸ“ File # 2026-809512

πŸ“‹ The driver was charged under Section 163(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act. The offence carries a $2,422.50 fine, an immediate 7-day licence suspension, and vehicle impoundment.

No matter the excuse, excessive speed puts everyone at risk. If you witness dangerous driving, and it’s safe to do so, report it immediately to police or call 911.
