The Long Lake Wildfire is still out of control and gaining intensity today

⚠️ West Dalhousie / Long Lake Wildfire Update: 

Still remains at 3210 hectares. 

The Long Lake wildfires complex is still out of control and gaining intensity today. 

There was some minimal growth south of Five Finger Lake, although the official size estimate remains 3210 hectares. Still no reports of damage to homes.

Crews are still working on dozer guards. Firefighters include 93 DNR, 22 Ontario and 25 local. More firefighters from Ontario expected to arrive tomorrow.

Air resources include 4 NTW planes and 1 contracted helicopter. 

3 CL215T planes from Alberta that are on loan to New Brunswick came to make a quick strike this afternoon. 

More air resources tomorrow from Manitoba. 

“Manitoba is sending two Canadair CL-415 water bombers, as well as a third aircraft, to the Maritimes to help combat wildfires have intensified there in recent days. A provincial spokesperson emphasized that, “Manitoba could fulfill the asks from Nova Scotia without impacting the capacity to meet our province’s needs.” By The Free Press in Manitoba.
