Wildfire smoke from West Dalhousie

Local News

FROM Greenwich Fire:

PSA: Overnight multiple fire departments in Kings County, including Greenwich have responded to numerous reports of the smell of smoke. This smoke, which smells like a campfire, is drifting from wildfires in West Dalhousie in Annapolis County and is blanketing the Valley floor with a smokey haze.

💨If you smell smoke that resembles a campfire today and you can’t see a defined location where it’s coming from, there’s a good chance it’s related to these fires and there is no need to call 911. For updates on these fires, please monitor official channels like the Nova Scotia Government page.

For any smoke that doesn’t appear to smell like a “campfire” contact your local fire department as normal to investigate.

🔥 if you see an outside fire, or a column of smoke which has a defined source in the local area, please call 911 and the fire department & DNR will attend immediately to investigate.

🤔 If you’re unsure about the source of smoke you smell in an outdoor setting, please call the NS Department of Natural Resources and Renewables 800-565-2224
