MADD Canada bringing awareness to impaired driving

Community Local News

Driving while impaired is one of the prominent factors contributing to serious injuries and deaths in crashes, on Canada’s roads.

Everyday, law enforcement continue to arrest and charge motorists across Nova Scotia for impaired driving related offences.

Earlier this week (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) MADD Annapolis Valley Chapter, partnered with Kentville Police Service, held their annual red ribbon campaign.

Red ribbons are handed out to motorists around the holiday season to remind drivers to drive sober!

This important initiative helps spread the word while gathering donations to support victims directly impacted by impaired driving.

If you suspect someone is behind the wheel impaired, please call 9-1-1, it could save a life.

Be prepared to provide the dispatcher with:

• Vehicle description

• License plate

• Direction of travel

• Description of the driver
