Firefighters quickly save garage

Local News

Shortly before 1AM this morning, Waterville & District Volunteer Firefighters were dispatched to a detached garage on fire in Woodville.

First arriving officer, Deputy Chief, Craig Foote, arrived on scene to a working fire on the exterior.

Prior to the first due fire apparatus, property owners made quick efforts to deploy a garden hose, ultimately containing the fire.

Mutual aid protocols were activated, automatically dispatching Berwick & Kentville Fire Departments.

Firefighters and property owners were able to remove multiple items before the fire spread any further into the structure.

Crews made quick work knocking the fire and minimizing damage. Firefighters worked to check for extension for some time before clearing the scene.

Fire Chief, Wayne Johnstone was able to confirm the cause of the fire is being treated as accidental.

Kings District RCMP also attended the scene and there were no reported injuries as a result.
