On Thursday morning, at approximately 0103AM, Kentville Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a fully involved structure fire in North Kentville.

The fire was observed by a motorist driving through the area. They noticed a heavy glow in the sky, ultimately prompting the call to 911.
Automatic mutual aid protocols were dispatched bringing in Waterville, New Minas and Port Williams Fire Departments.

On arrival, crews were faced with a large two-storey, three-bay garage, with heavy fire involvement from the structure.
There were multiple vehicles along with flammable materials inside the building which caused issues for crews.

One immediate exposure, an adjacent residential home, was beginning to off-gas. Firefighters made quick work deploying hose lines to protect the home, which suffered some melting siding as a result.
Due to the fire volume, crews were unable to perform an interior attack and were strictly exterior operations, working for several hours to extinguish the blaze.

Kings District RCMP, EHS Paramedics and Nova Scotia Power all assisted on scene.
Kentville Deputy Chief, Ian Fairclough, was able to confirm there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire and the cause is being treated as undetermined.
