Shortly before 12 noon today, Kentville Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle crash, involving fire in the community of Brooklyn Corner.

Prior to the fire departments arrival, heavy black smoke could be seen coming from the area.
Following initial reports, it was discovered the vehicle in question was not involved in a collision.
The sole occupant of the truck, had noticed flames coming from the vehicle and quickly managed to escape before it came to rest in the ditch.

Firefighters worked to deploy multiple hose-lines to manage heavy fire coming from the truck involved.
Thankfully, the occupant was able to escape without injuries.
Lovett Road in the community of Brooklyn Corner was closed to all traffic during the incident, to ensure the safety of the firefighters working to extinguish the blaze.
Kings District RCMP were also on scene providing traffic control in the area during the incident.

The vehicle was removed from the area by Milne’s Towing after the fire was officially out.

Lovett Road was re-opened a short time later after the truck was removed.
Great work by all agencies on scene!
