A 41-year-old male is facing charges related to two separate arsons.

On March 31, 2026, shortly after 3:00 p.m., the Kentville Police Service were dispatched to a baseball field dugout on fire. Kentville Police members and the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department arrived and quickly extinguished the flames.

Kentville Police members spoke with people in the area and quickly identified a possible suspect who was later interviewed and confessed to setting the fire in the ballfield dugout. Further investigation also confirmed they were responsible for another recent arson as well and admitted to setting the fire that occurred in July of 2025 at the canteen near Ballfield #4. 

As a result of the thorough investigation, the 41-year-old male has been charged with two counts of Arson Causing Damage to Property under section 434 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) and will appear at the Kentville Provincial Court on May 13, 2026.
