Continuous repairs in Berwick

Community

The Berwick Electric Commission has been busy contending with two emergency repairs this week.

On Sunday evening, crews responded to a motor vehicle collision where a passenger vehicle took out a power pole. This resulted in a lengthy power outage along with damages that required a replacement pole.

Again yesterday, another pole fell victim to damages. Reports indicate a dump truck backed into a power pole knocking electricity out for part of town. This also required a lengthy repair and a replacement pole.

Both outages are lengthy repairs, which take some time to complete. These incidents have since been repaired.

These unexpected outages aren’t only an inconvenience for customers, it also puts a strain on the workers that are trying to quickly but safely repair the damages.

Shout out to Berwick Electric for working to restore power this week and Berwick Public Works for providing safe working conditions.
