There were some anxious moments for residents along Gospel Woods Road in Brow of the Mountain this evening.
Fire crews were alerted of a wheat field, combine and woods fire shortly after 5PM this evening.
With the fire getting close to jumping the road and spreading to nearby woods, firefighters were contending with many moving parts on their arrival.

Farmers on site also assisted with putting the fire out and reducing it from spreading with machinery.
Great work by all involved, another complex call but our volunteers held things together during some very tense moments.
The combine on site was completely destroyed due to the fire, our thoughts are with the farmer on this devastating loss.
