On April 16, 2026, members of the Kentville Police Service observed a female walking on foot who was wanted on a province wide arrest warrant. The female was subsequently arrested where she obstructed and resisted police officers engaged in their duties. During a search of her belongings, a large quantity of drugs including cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone, alprazolam, along with cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia were located and seized.
Emily Ellen VAUGHAN, aged 39, of North Kentville, Nova Scotia, has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (four counts), Resist/Obstruct Peace Officer (two counts) and Fail to Comply with Release Order (nine counts). VAUGHAN appeared in Kentville Provincial Court on April 17, 2026 and was released on conditions pending future court appearances.
