Yesterday evening, Waterville & District Volunteer Firefighters got to test out their new Drager Live Fire Training System.

This new system provides firefighters with hands on experience, while also dealing with fire up close but in a controlled environment.
With different props, firefighters are able to work together to practice skills that are needed to fight fires such as cars, dumpsters and even propane tanks.

These skills can also be applied to many other types of incidents, providing crucial training for firefighters when it’s needed on an active fire.
The simulator is supplied by propane, with a control station, ensuring safety measures are in place for crews performing scenarios.

Not only does acquiring this new system provide frontline firefighters with crucial hands on experience but it also provides fire departments with basic training.

It also allows pump operators to get a feel for how a fire truck operates during a real scenario while providing key opportunities to practice scene management via accountability and safety in a realistic scenario.
This new system will be a huge benefit for not only Waterville but for many firefighters across Kings County.
Congratulations Waterville!
