Over the weekend, emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a vehicle and a tow truck along Highway 101 in Lequille, Annapolis County.
Annapolis District RCMP were notified of the incident on Saturday, September 19th at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Annapolis Royal firefighters and multiple EHS units also responded to the incident along the 100-series highway.
Cpl. Carlie McCann, Public Information Officer for the Nova Scotia RCMP, was able to confirm via email that officers learned that, as a tow truck was pulling over to respond to a call for service, it was hit from behind by another vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, travelling in the same direction.
Three occupants of the Toyota reported injuries and were assessed by EHS paramedics.
Highway 101 was closed in the immediate area so emergency crews could work safely at the scene.
Tow trucks are included in the types of vehicles covered by Nova Scotia’s Slow Down, Move Over laws when they are stopped at the scene of a fire or collision or assisting a vehicle.
