International Firefighters Day is observed each year on May 4th. It’s a day to celebrate the hard work firefighters do everyday and risks they take to protect lives and property.
Firefighters Day was originally created in 1999 after 5 firefighters tragically lost their lives during an Australian wildfire.
Every day firefighters across the world respond to emergencies, some unable to return home.
We remember all those members, past and present, for their sacrifices, commitment and determination to keep our communities safe.
