On Saturday, the Kentville Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 006, officially unveiled their new mural, commemorating their 100th anniversary!

Dignitaries, branch members, and those from the community were all present to witness the cutting of the ribbon, recognizing the beautiful artwork painted on the structure.

Across Canada, local legions serve in our communities, operating as non-profit organizations. Approximately 270,000 members volunteer between a total of 1,350 branches.
Local legions operate strictly by volunteers, providing support to veterans, organizing events and ceremonies while remembering those who served.
They also organize the yearly poppy campaign, distributing tens of millions of poppies each year, bringing in voluntary donations to support branch trust funds for veterans and families.

Marking this historic 100-year anniversary is something to be very proud of, and we congratulate Branch 006 for their commitment to our veterans and community.
Feel free to check out the beautiful mural which is located on the side of their building on River Street!
