Over the last couple of weeks, drivers from the Truckers Association of Nova Scotia, have been busy hauling material from the rock quarry on Long Point Road in Viewmount to the construction site in Cambridge.
It was really interesting to see this process on the ground, rather than just seeing it from the air.
Rocks are crushed on site in Viewmount, where they get loaded into tractor trailers and dump trucks, weighed and then transported to the job site.
This phase alone has seen thousands and thousands of tons of rock dumped on the south side of the overpass leading to the Annapolis Valley First Nation and the river towards Highway 1.
Heavy machinery have worked to level the rocks to make way for when the road will eventually be paved.
