On July 7, 2026, the Kentville Police Service responded to a serious incident involving a structure fire on Webster Court, Kentville, Nova Scotia. The fire, which initially started outside one building, rapidly spread to an adjacent structure.
Thanks to the prompt and coordinated efforts of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD) and additional local volunteer fire services, the situation was brought under control. Their prompt action prevented further damage and ensured the safety of nearby building and residents
As a result of the thorough investigation, Andrew Baltzer, age 32, of Kentville has been charged with two counts of Arson Causing Damage to Property under section 434 and a Breach of Probation Order under section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC).
Baltzer was remanded into custody and is appearing July 13, 2026
at the Kentville Provincial Court.
