Photography is something that takes years of practice, countless speed bumps and many missed opportunities.

Especially with these particular shots, they require a unique kind of patience and a thrill for some added risks.

Long exposure waterfall photos, are captured with an extended shutter speed, blurring moving water and making it look soft or even giving it that silky look.

The images are snapped using a manual camera, steady tripod and a specialized filter, mounting on the front of the lens, to help reduce overexposing the photos when the camera captures the images in the daylight.

Hidden on the other side of the Factorydale dam along Harmony Road, is this gorgeous waterfall, overpowered by the colours of fall, taken this week.
