Earlier this week, firefighters took part in two training scenarios at the Waterville Michelin Plant.

The Michelin Waterville Plant has its own Emergency Response Team, consisting of employees throughout the facility who are able to respond when an incident may occur.
The team consists of employees who are trained and certified to respond to on site emergencies, from confided space rescues, medical incidents and also fire related calls.

On Monday evening, firefighters from Michelin, Waterville, Berwick & Kentville, worked through exercises inside and outside of the plant.
This training on the facility grounds is a vital component to keeping staff who work at the plant safe. With an array of different machines on site and hazardous materials, preparedness for any situation that might occur is crucial for prevention.

“On behalf of everyone at the Michelin Waterville Plant, I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Waterville, Berwick, and Kentville Fire Departments for participating in the recent mutual aid training exercise at our facility.
The exercise brought together approximately 50 volunteer firefighters and 20 members of the Michelin Emergency Response Team, demonstrating the strong partnership and collaboration that exists between our organizations. The commitment, professionalism, and teamwork displayed by everyone involved helped make the training both valuable and successful.

These training opportunities strengthen our emergency preparedness, improve coordination among responding agencies, and help ensure the safety of our employees, our community, and our first responders. We are grateful for the time, effort, and expertise that each participant contributed to this exercise.
Thank you for your continued commitment to protecting our community and for helping the Michelin Waterville Plant maintain a safe and prepared workplace. We look forward to continuing our strong working relationships and collaborating on future training opportunities.” Emerson Huntley, Asset Protection Manager, Waterville Michelin Plant.
