It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of active Kentville Firefighter James Belen, #243.

Today, the fire service has lost one of its own—a brother whose commitment to serving others will never be forgotten. James answered the call with courage, compassion, and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to serve alongside him. A true friend and someone who always found a way to help anyone in need. A selfless man to the end.

On behalf of our department, we extend our deepest condolences to James’ family, friends, and colleagues. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. We will grieve alongside you.

May we honor his legacy by continuing to serve with the same selflessness and strength that he demonstrated throughout his life.

Rest easy, Firefighter Belen. Your watch is over. We have it from here…. XJH75 clear.
